Hi! My name is Courtney Mann. I was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, but currently live with my mom in Brownwood, Texas. I am
a senior at Brownwood High School and will turn eighteen in October. I am most excited about turning eighteen because I get
to vote in the November elections. In school I participate in a broad range of activities, but I am most proud of Students
Against Destructive Decisions (SADD). I spent most of my sophomore year convincing my high school principal that our school
needed a SADD program, and my junior year we founded the first SADD Brownwood chapter. We only completed two major projects,
but we were still very proud of ourselves because we were embarking into uncharted territory.
As for fun I enjoy hanging out at Starbucks, drinking coffee with my best friend, Shannon, and watching The Office. Tonight
I watched the season premiere of the show, and I have to say those writers never cease to amaze me with their talent. I honestly
believe that this is the funniest show on television. Of course, I enjoy anything that can make me laugh; being happy is so
much better than being sad, so why would I want to watch anything that did not make me laugh?
Through this course, I hope to grow in both my technological ability and my cultural awareness. I think being given the opportunity
to take this course is an extreme honor, and I am looking forward to it and to meeting all of you.
