On May 19, 1990, I was born to Maria Eduviges Portales and Noel Garza in McAllen, Texas. After staying at the hospital for
a week due to complications, I went home for the first time to meet my brother Nicholas Noel. During a bright and adventurous
infantry, I received another brother, Michael Adam, on July 17, 1995. My brothers and I were enrolled at the Oratory Academy
of Saint Phillip Neri at the age of four. There I met many friends who would eventually guide and support me in the years
to come. After graduating from kindergarten and making it all the way to third grade I received another brother, Max Gabriel,
on October 6, 1998. My family seemed to grow closer and closer every time a child was born and now, we are closer than ever
before. My family and I have traveled to Louisiana, Florida, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and Mexico to learn about what other
things America has to offer. I am hoping to one day visit Europe and perhaps even spend some time in Denmark. Traveling the
world is definitely something that I would like to accomplish before I die, but for now, I know that I need to focus on my
studies. So, I continue to excel in school, being a straight “A” student and participating in school plays
and competitions. I participated in PSIA and made it to the State level competitions for many years in Poetry and Maps, Graphs
and Charts. Now, in eleventh grade, I have attended the Oratory for thirteen years and have grown close to its customs and
environment. I was a proud officer of the Oratory Angels Drill Team and had the opportunity to be a part of it for four years.
I plan on graduating from Oratory Athenaeum for University Preparation and I am setting high goals for college to become a
Dermatologist. I know that I will be leaving home soon, but I am excited to get out into the world to be able grow as a person
and learn through some of life's ups and downs.
